Why I Chose Psychiatry

I believe mental care is collaboratively personalized to the person’s needs for mental health. I take time to understand your emotional health, stressors, routines, relationships, and the broader context of your life.

My goal is to help you feel understood, supported, and more at home in yourself again. Healing does not have to be rushed. With thoughtful care and consistent support, many people find their confidence returning and their lives becoming more manageable.

I provide psychiatric care that focuses on the whole person. I take time to understand your emotional health, daily stressors, physical well being, relationships, and the broader context of your life.

Medication may be part of your care when appropriate, but it is never the only focus. We work together to create a plan that feels supportive, realistic, and aligned with what helps you feel more steady and grounded over time.

If you are ready for care that meets you where you are and supports lasting change, I would be glad to work with you.

Healing happens when you feel safe, understood, and met exactly where they are. My role is to listen deeply, honor your story, and help you move toward the healthier, more grounded version of yourself that you’ve always been capable of becoming.- Sarah Wenger, PMHNP

The turnaround time between appointments is pretty quick. I came back in two weeks for my return visit to look at how the medication is working. The best thing about the service is that I can reach my nurse practitioner easily by sending messages on my phone without having to call and go through multiple people. If I have an issue with a pharmacy, they follow up typically the same day. The second thing I like is that I feel heard and understood when they address my symptoms. They ask the question a few different ways to understand how my ADHD affects not just one area of my life but all of it, and they look at the patterns over time to see it from my perspective.

Finding a reliable and excellent provider to diagnose my ADHD has been extremely difficult. One of the challenges for me is that there is not a lot of availability with providers who take my insurance. I got in fairly quickly here, within about five days, because they ran my eligibility and got back to me so I knew what the cost would be. It has been a low stress experience overall. I feel much better equipped to handle life and to make more progress with my education. The assessment is very tailored to me, with very specific recommendations. It does not feel generic at all, which is something I noticed with my last provider. My psychiatric NP takes longer with visits, and I think that makes a difference.

Simple and straightforward, easy to access, very efficient. Highly recommend.
